Tour Plan

Day 1: Aswan

Your journey begins with a flight from Cairo to Aswan. Upon arrival, a tour guide will escort you to several key Aswan attractions. First, you'll visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and one of the last temples built in the classical Egyptian style. Next, experience the engineering marvel of the High Dam, a rock-fill dam bordering Egypt and Sudan, and learn about its impact on the Nile and Lake Nasser. The Unfinished Obelisk in the Northern Quarries provides insight into ancient Egyptian construction techniques.

Enjoy lunch onboard a cruise. Later, sail on a traditional Felucca, taking in the sunset views. An optional tour to a Nubian village is available.

Day 2: Abu Simbel & Luxor

An early start takes you to the magnificent Abu Simbel temples. These two temples, dedicated to Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, were carved into the mountainside. The Great Temple honors Ramses II and other deities, while the second temple is dedicated to Nefertari and Hathor. The temples were relocated to higher ground by UNESCO in a remarkable preservation effort.

After lunch in Aswan, you'll travel by train to Luxor and check in to your hotel, the Nile Palace Hotel, for the night.

Day 3: Luxor

After breakfast, your private guide will lead you to the Karnak Temple complex. This vast site, the largest temple complex ever built, comprises several temples and structures, representing the work of many generations of pharaohs.

Next, you'll explore Luxor Temple, central to the Opet Festival, built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Lunch will be at a local Luxor restaurant.

In the evening, you can experience the optional Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple, which narrates the history of Thebes and the temple's construction and treasures. Overnight stay is at the Nile Palace in Luxor.

Day 4: Luxor & Departure

An optional hot air balloon ride is available in the morning.

Following breakfast, you'll visit the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of many New Kingdom rulers, including Ramses II and Tutankhamun. The tombs, well-preserved, were filled with goods for the afterlife.

You'll then see Hatshepsut Temple, a beautifully preserved temple built on multiple levels, and the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Amenhotep III.

Lunch will be served in Luxor before your transfer to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Cairo.
